Our Dark Chocolate Hemp Protein Smoothie is perfect anytime, but especially when it’s cooler out.
Dark chocolate can be comforting when it’s cold, verses fruits and berries, which tend to please the palate during spring and summer months. I use a combination of hemp protein powder and hemp hearts in whatever smoothie or shake I make. They will provide well-rounded nutrition, including essential fatty acids – aka omegas. Those are the good fats our body needs for healthy body function.

It’s only 5 ingredients and takes less than 5 minutes. The chocolate should be a high quality, special dark unsweetened 100% cocoa or cacao. Unsweetened 100% dark cocoa or cacao is a good stable for your pantry. Not only when making this chocolate hemp protein smoothie, but for other baking needs.

Simply substitute the 100% grassfed diary milk with a non-dairy milk of your choice. You can then tailor your grams of protein by reviewing the notes at the bottom of the recipe. Enjoy! Your worth it.

Dark Chocolate Hemp Protein Smoothie

- 1 blender
Ingredients
- 1 & 1/2 cups Organic 100% Grassfed Whole Milk Non-dairy milk can be substituted
- 1 heaping tbsp Hemp Protein Powder Better Option Foods brand
- 1 tbsp Unsweetened 100% Dark Chocolate or Cocoa
- 3 to 4 tbsp Hemp Hearts Better Option Foods brand
- 1 lg banana
Instructions
- DIRECTION1. Combine all ingredients in the blender.2. Process until smooth and creamy, about 1 to 2 minutes, increasing the speed from low to high. If cocoa or other ingredients stick to the side of the blender, turn off the blender and scrape the sides with a spatula to push the ingredients into liquid.3. - 1-tbsp hemp protein = aprox 4.5 - 5g protein
- 1-tbsp hemp hearts = aprox 3.3g protein
- 1 & 1/2 cups whole milk = 12 g protein (if you choose non-dairy milk, you can add more hemp.
